Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI):Strategy & Online Presence Implementation
Project Description and Scope: Introduction The VSE Career Centre is seeking students that are interested in developing and implementing digital content strategies that will help elevate the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) measures incorporated into the VSE Career Centre’s professional online presence as well as digital communities like LinkedIn. Students would have the opportunity to · Create and implement a digital strategy for the VSE Career Centre’s use of a new EDI-focused LinkedIn group, with the intent to engage employers, partners, BIE students, alumni and other stakeholders in EDI initiatives and group discussion · Engage with online content and LinkedIn group posts as an “EDI Ambassador” to increase community interaction · Research, propose, and create content suited to various purposes, e.g. to be informative, entertaining, educational, relevant, and utilize LinkedIn Live and LinkedIn Learning [ch1] · Elevate written pieces on the VSE Career Centre’s professional website through the lens of EDI · Offer insight into future digital needs of the VSE Career Centre We’re looking for someone like you if: · You are passionate about EDI and furthering your personal knowledge in this area · You are a critical thinker with an ability to analyze and design long-term media strategy · You are attuned to the needs of different audiences and can tailor content accordingly · You like working in a team environment and are receptive to feedback · You are sensitive to the differences between personal and professional media presence Qualifications: · Excellent writing and communications skills, particularly the ability to write clearly and professionally · Intermediate knowledge of LinkedIn preferred · Able to create content that is brand-consistent on a regular basis · Excellent time management and organizational skills linkedin live and linkedin learning [ch1]

We are looking for someone like you if: You are passionate about content development and promoting professional and personal development resources to support BIE students You are a critical thinker with an ability to analyze and design course outlines and strategies. Development Resource for students
The VSE Career Centre is seeking students who are interested in Development Economics and connecting students with insights and opportunities in the field. We are looking for motivated, creative, and passionate students who can develop a resource that will help Economic students gain access to resources that will help them better understand Development Economics while offering access to jobs, graduate studies (Pre-docs), and other resources. This project would require the student to collaborate with the Career Centre staff, other students, VSE professors, and outside connections to gather relevant resources.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Strategy and Events
Positions available: 3 ( 1 team with 3 students) Project Description and Scope: Introduction The Career Centre is seeking students that are interested in helping to conceptualize and develop resources and events that will help the VSE Career Centre systemically integrate inclusion into our operations and services. Students would have the opportunity to · Conduct Diversity, Inclusion and Equity (DEI) research, plan events, work with diverse stakeholders, and write recommendation reports to make inclusion more intentional and apparent at UBC, starting with the BIE program and potentially the rest of VSE · Work with other students in the program to plan and deliver an event for the BIE Class of 2024 with two primary goals in mind: obtaining maximum attendance for students to be able to interact outside of an academic context; unpack the theme “Moving Beyond Cultural Boundaries” with the help of speaker(s) who can talk about diversity and inclusion · Aid in continuing research for multiple events for Fall 2021, where students have the chance to unpack issues of inclusivity such as: ageism, LGBTQIA+ rights, mental and physical disabilities, racism, sexism, Truth and Reconciliation, and other forms of discrimination in the workplace and in today’s world · Provide recommendations for our plan moving forward We’re looking for someone like you if: · You are passionate about promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion · You are a strategic thinker with an ability to reinvent and develop new opportunities · You are ambitious and excited to explore DEI · You like working collaboratively with team members and stakeholders · You are sensitive to the current social and political environment surrounding DEI Qualifications: · Self-motivated and driven to lead an impactful event · Able to work with attention to detail and highly organized · Event planning and management experience · Excellent oral communication and presentation skills · Previous experience working with inclusivity, equity, and diversity preferred · Adaptable and flexible with excellent interpersonal skills to work with a diverse population of students, colleagues, and outside stakeholders · Able to provide clear and precise next step recommendations as part of a final report Student will receive: - Weekly oversight through prescheduled meetings - Constant feedback on operations - Recommendations and potential to return for other projects after completion
