Marine Education Knowledge Hub

Oceanic Impact aims to enhance public awareness and education about ocean ecosystems by developing an online ocean education database. The goal is to help develop an online database that contains various educational resources, such as articles, videos, and interactive tools, lesson plans, funding opportunities, etc. to facilitate the learning and teaching of marine life and conservation efforts. This project will allow learners to apply their knowledge of database management [and optional: web development and user experience design]. The team will focus on creating a cohesive and accessible digital resource that can be easily navigated by educators (primarily audience) and potentially parents and students (secondary audience). By integrating multimedia content and interactive elements, the database will serve as an engaging educational tool for schools and the general public. - Develop a structured database to store and organize educational content. - [Asset] Design a user-friendly interface that enhances the learning experience. - [Asset] Integrate multimedia elements to make the content engaging and informative. - [Asset] Ensure the platform is accessible and easy to navigate for diverse audiences.

Project feedback
Oceanic Impact is a great company to collaborate with on experiential learning projects. The founder, Lisa Chen is passionate about environmental education and about having a positive impact on our oceans. She supports students and engages them to understand her company’s commitment and strategies for waste and litter reduction and elimination through environmental education, empowerment, and enablement of positive change. Lisa never misses a scheduled meeting and comes to the table prepared to interact with the students. Where issues need further investigation, she is there to give room for the students to explore and share their ideas. She encourages them to offer positive feedback and critical analysis of potential solutions to drive her organization to succeed. Lisa’s attitude is amazing, and she is a great supportive employer to work with on research projects!
