My clinic specializes in atopic dermatitis (AKA eczema) which is the most common skin condition in childhood. What most people don't realize, is that atopic dermatitis causes significant burdens on patient and family quality of life and treatment plans are multi-factorial including skin care routines, diet, nutrition, wound care management, family coping and so much more.

We would like to collaborate with students to gain an understanding of what components should be included and the implementation strategies available.

This will involve several different steps for the students, including:

• Analyzing data from the literature regarding nutrition considerations in patients with atopic dermatitis
• Researching current trends in patient satisfaction and adherence
• Developing a realistic health and wellness program for patients with atopic dermatitis
• Providing metrics to justify the implementation of the program.
• Recommending steps to implement the program within our company.
• Revising and improving the proposed program based on feedback.

By the end of the project, students should demonstrate:

• Understanding of health and wellness initiatives valued by patients and families with atopic dermatitis
• Understanding of other organizations’ health and wellness programs for this patient population
• Development of a health and wellness program for our patients and families
• Recommendations and justification for the program’s implementation

Bonus steps would include:

• Revising the program based on feedback

Final deliverables should include

• A final report.
• A 10-minute presentation.

Students will connect directly with us for mentorship throughout the project. We will be able to provide answers to questions such as:

• Our current health and wellness initiatives
• Corporate health and wellness programs in other companies
• Input on choices, problems or anything else the students might encounter.
