Project Description and Scope:

Introduction

The VSE Career Centre is seeking students that are interested in assisting in the development of new features for the Career Centre website as well as vetting current VSE Career Centre content on UBC pages online.

Students would have the opportunity to

• Develop a virtual gallery-style feature that will compile BIE student information and present it in a format that is attractive and informative for potential employers
• Interact with and contribute to the testing and development of a professional website
• Assess and identify potential areas on UBC pages that may be outdated, require new links, or otherwise require attention AND implement changes to remedy these issues
• Offer insight to improve functionality, appearance, and content of the VSE Career Centre’s online presence

We’re looking for someone like you if:

• You are interested in web design and infrastructure
• You are a critical thinker that is able to analyze and assess a situation for potential issues
• You are excited by the creation and implementation of web features
• You like problem solving and working collaboratively

Qualifications:

• Strong attention to detail
• General knowledge of a coding language preferred
• Excellent proofreading and communication skills
• Able to write clearly and professionally

Student will receive:

• Weekly oversight through prescheduled meetings
• Constant feedback on operations
• Recommendations and potential to return for other projects after completion
