Are you a small to mid-sized retailer looking to refresh your current strategy? Students will work in groups throughout the semester on a challenge you provide them. Along the way, they could gather primary data from your customers and collate secondary data about your industry, analyze the data and then develop a strategic retailing plan along with actionable insights.

Requirements

Student-consultants in groups of 3-5 will develop a proactive strategic plan which will guide your future opportunities and be prepared to face upcoming changes in consumer trends.

Potential projects could focus in the following areas -

  1. Branding strategies for your company/products
  2. Identifying your customer decision making process
  3. Positioning analysis
  4. Competitor analysis
  5. Merchandising strategy
  6. Overall strategic development
  7. Digital marketing strategy

To accomplish this work, students will:

  • Conduct an initial meeting with your organization to determine the scope of the project and your key areas of interest
  • Work as a group to develop a detailed report for your organization.
  • Deliver the final report to your organization which will include the implementation plan
